The King of the Village (Mono-drama)
Tal Ginat in a touching monodrama
Written and Directed by: Udi Ben Seadia
Lighting Designer: Uri Rubinstein
Music: Hovav Ben-Seadia
On the evening of Israel’s Independence Day, David, a man in his fifties, is trying to sell souvenirs to a gathering audience. While the sky fills with fireworks, he tells his audience his life story, and the events that led him thus far.
Through his life story, the play reexamines the rituals that served as a binding glue between the different parts of the Israeli society.
“Beauty combined with sadness: a touching glimpse of the varied and vibrant Israeli society and life on the Kibbutz in the early 70′s.”
“Udi Ben Seadia’s writing is filled with humanity and sensitivity.
Tal Ginat gives a fabulous performance”
Shay Bar-Yakov (Ydioth Acharonot)
After a five year run across the stages of Israel, the play débuts for its first American tour this upcoming September!
